There are many avenues of civil dissent that do not involve violence although there will be violence no matter what.
Consider this, as dp says above, if the “silent majority” feels there is no civil recourse to not only a theft of an election, but the theft of our nation and constitution, what happens?
I don’t think any of us know for certain, but will there be those who react violently? Yes. The BLM/Antifa crowd, those actually committing acts of violence, are likely less than 1% of the far left. Sure, people are marching, but very few of them are doing violence (forget the looting - crime of opportunity and not politics). We have the same 1% on the far right and always have. Will they remain passive in the face of what they perceive (correctly) as an existential threat to the nation and themselves?
This is ugly. A special kind of ugly.
The vast majority of democrats and republicans are law-abiding and no, they will not harm others or destroy the property of others. However, the majority on the right WILL act to protect their person and property unlike the left. The anarchist on the left know this - they know they can keep pushing and pushing. Why not? They have done it with little consequence all year.
However, the extremes are where the action is and there are people on BOTH sides who will act out. They capture and dominate the news, much of the conversation, and they do things that force reaction by everyone else. We have seen that this year with riots in (ironically) democrat cities.
The left has torn the fabric of the country and I am not sure how it can be fixed. This has been a long time coming and here we are. The most amazing thing is that Biden is really an empty figurehead for them - the people behind him are the ones with the real power. Very few will fight for “Biden”, but they have shown us quite clearly they will fight for the ideas and people behind Biden.
