Running in 2024. For a politician to view another, especially someone sitting where he’d like to be, with envy and hatred is not some kind of aberration. Carl Bernstein implies that it’s exceptional. That’s intuitive only to someone who was born yesterday. To be a politician is to reflexively put on a mask of amiability. What lies beneath is something entirely different.
