When answering questions during a news conference at the Arizona Health Department on Wednesday, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey (R) explained that he will accept the election results once all legal claims and challenges are adjudicated. This was the governor’s first press conference since Election Day.
Ducey said: “I’ve also said that we are going to count all the votes in Arizona. We are going to allow whatever legal challenges that come to be swiftly adjudicated inside the state of Arizona and that I will respect the election results.”
Ducey, a Republican, has not called Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden the winner of Arizona but has congratulated Democratic Senate candidate Mark Kelly on winning the Senate special election.
There is one ongoing lawsuit in Arizona, filed by the Arizona Republican Party against the Maricopa County Recorder. The lawsuit seeks to conduct a full hand audit according to precincts, as opposed to voting centers.

Yes, we know. If it was, Kamala Harris would’ve resigned her Senate seat.
So what if it is appealed to SCOTUS. Are you going to ignore that and just certify depending on what the Arizona courts rule ?
Steve Bannon points out that no one seems to be interested in putting themselves out there and lobbying for positions in a Biden administration as would be happening normally.
In case it doesn’t happen, those people are cooling their heels so as not to be associated with this train wreck of an election.
“Yes, we know. If it was, Kamala Harris would’ve resigned her Senate seat.”
Spot on.
Every other president elect or VP elect has always resigned right after the election.
I don’t understand the defense of that loony SOS in Arizona.
She belongs in jail.
They have her and the same rigged voting system used in other States.
The early call on FOX kind of gives the game away, too.
Good point. There’s nothing stopping Mitt Romney from resigning and making himself available to be named head of the Dept. of Animal Control or some other such office.
Ducey has been a huge disappointment here in AZ.
Not true. Pence resigned on January 9th, Gore January 3rd, Biden January 15th.
Obama resigned from the senate on November 16, 2008.
What is Harris waiting for?
She knows with 100% certainty that she will never be sworn in as Vice President.
So what is dufus Ducey doing?
He is talking out of both sides of his mouth. Telling everyone that he won’t order statewide mandatory mask mandates, and then tells everyone that masks are required in all gyms, restaurants, stores, etc. He’s full of crap and you can’t believe anything he says. He’s petrified of the media and the Hysterical Church of Karen.
Mike Pence resigned as Indiana governor on January 9, 2017. Dan Quayle stayed a senator till his term ran out on January 3, 1989. Joe Biden didn't resign his senate seat until January 15, 2009. Mondale didn't resign until December 30th. It's not at all uncommon for winning candidates to remain in their old office past winning the election for vice president.
Showboating. The governor doesn't certify the vote in Arizona. He doesn't approve it. He doesn't have any role in the process at all. All Ducey is saying is that he, like thousands of others, is reserving judgement on the election outcome.
As long as she's still a senator she's getting a paycheck.
