A few months back, DeSantis issued an EO that effectively canceled all city and county mask mandates. He was right.

Second, on that, this should be up to local government leaders. The local leaders have a better feel for the outbreak.

I volunteer to superglue a solid metal mask to these mayor’s faces for free.
I was in Denver airport a few weeks ago. I was literally the ONLY person I saw that was not wearing a mask. But where I live, it’s about 20% that ARE wearing masks. It’s mostly young people that lap up everything the MSM tells them.

They can’t really do that, at least not any mandate with any teeth, because DeSantis decided he knows what’s best for the whole state. He’s fortunate that the Florida Democrats are in disarray right now due to poorer than expected election results and are preoccupied with fighting with each other rather than working with their friends in the media to go after the governor.
They want him to mandate masks so they won’t have to take the heat. Sounds to me they are a bunch of cowards.

Puh-Lease! I live in Florida and there already IS a virtual “mask mandate” in place. Almost every darn business you go into—certainly every national chain—has a wear your face diaper sign and people to enforce it by the doors. I’m sick of wearing the darn things!
Publix has the sign up, but they’re not nagging you now when you don’t. Some other customers will give you dirty looks though.

A recently completed research study by Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in cooperation with the Naval Medical Research Center and published in the New England Journal of Medicine has found that strict quarantine, tightly controlled social distancing, and continuous use of masks did absolutely nothing to contain the spread of COVID-19, and might even have increased its spread.
