“I think it’s showing the republicans aren’t going to abandon the president.”

I think they haven’t figured out an effective and forceful strategy to stop the electors meeting on December 8 to cast their ballots. Or getting State legislatures to stop their electors for voting for fraudulent outcomes in their states.

Time is critically short and it doesn’t seem like much is happening.

A request for a Congressional investigation is a joke. At best they will spend millions of dollars to produce a report in three years concluding that the 2020 was honest and did not have even a smidgeon of corruption.

If it takes longer than Dec 8 to get this resolved and it becomes incredibly clear after this date that rampant fraud occurred, that isn’t just it. Electoral votes aren’t actually counted by Congress until Jan 6. From what I can tell, the states in question in this election allow for contested election proceedings provided they are filed on time, which Trump has done in all cases, and have no deadline for contested elections to be resolved. I’d like to think a contested election with an active lawsuit/investigation cannot be certified, but don’t know this for a fact. In any case, the Dec 8 “deadline” isn’t a point of not return.
