If we are going to lose, I prefer to be optimistic up until the electors vote, when I hope to be joyful.

That's my view also, better to be a disappointed optimist than a grouchy, miserable, surly, pessimist downer who makes everyone else around them miserable and saps all the joy and hope out of life.
