I hate to say it, but this makes sense. The Billionaires used various methods to get the illegals into the country as a source of cheap labor. Some were legal (well lobbied for....) and some were illegal. So now that the illegals are not working, well time to pony up boys!

The NYC restaurant business is in the crapper. Many legal/illegal immigrants worked in the restaurants. Hispanic, Mexican, Chinese and so on.
My guess is Chinatown is now a ghost town. NYC is a very Chinese city these days. Queens’ was their promised land with malls that were mobbed with Chinese. All before the Chinese Wu Flu hit.
