The Army is more afraid of the Marine Corps (in budgetary terms, getting money the Army thinks it needs) than any other thing in the world. With China Joe in the WH, budget cuts are in the air, and out comes the Army’s “long knives.”
And “ARMY” stands for “Ain’t Ready to be a Marine Yet,” Colonel...
It was just our birthday LAST week, geez...
“Ain’t Ready to be a Marine Yet,”
And a marine rifle squad consists of two riflemen and 7 cameraman.
I was in the USAF Veterinary Service. We caught the Army Vets and enlisted taking bribes from contractors in a scam that included DOD members. There was a Senate investigation in 1975 that ended up sending around 100 Army and DOD employees to prison or receiving punishment. The proposal to reduce the bribes and corruption? The Army recommended that the USAF Veterinary Service be eliminated and the Army take over the areas that the USAF Veterinarians and servicemen were assigned. Jimmy Carter signed the dissolution of the USAF Veterinary Service and our service was eliminated by 1982. The Army argued that this would save money yet in reality it cost much more.
I served with Marines at the NCBC at Gulfport and would do so in a heartbeat as they were professional and real.
