I also went to the Rush to Excellence tour in Norfolk. It was a lot of fun, probably around 1989 or 90.
My ship was stationed in Norfolk in the late 60’s. I took the Granby St. bus from the DESRON piers into town, and played pool at St. Elmo’s Billiards. Got to shake hands with Wimpy Lassiter. He was careful, and shook with his left hand.
