Never knew a Lawyer to turn down billable hours

I have. Quite a few actually.

The offer to not represent the particular client is better than the potential billable hours.

Lawyers are one of the least "regulated" professional entities we have in this country. Who is to know if they charge their client for 2 hours of work that was actually spent back-slapping the opposing counsel at the country club, yacht club, etc? Who can prove the billable hours fraudulent without spending even MORE MONEY?

True, a competing offer may be more attractive in terms of future career prospects, real property owned by the lawyer, family health and security, etc.

Somebodies committed multiple massive crimes. Somebodies do not want investigations. They may commit more crimes to block President Trump from the office of President
