Analyst says ‘Biden would not intervene if China invaded Taiwan’

Copley predicts China will start by taking Dongsha Islands, followed by Kinmen, Matsu to create 'de facto surrender'

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — An Australian analyst on Thursday (Nov. 5) predicted that the U.S. will not intervene if China invades Taiwan during the Biden administration.

"With vote-counting still underway and the outcome of the 2020 U.S. presidential election uncertain on Thursday, conservative radio talk show host John Batchelor asked Australian historian, author, and strategic analyst Gregory R. Copley to give his take on American foreign policy under a Biden presidency.

"Copley, who is president of the International Strategic Studies Association (ISSA), asserted that under Biden, Russia and China would "move into Europe," negotiations with the Palestinian Authority would begin, and the Iran deal would be restored."

He also stated that China's seizure of territory in the South China Sea will increase and that the country could take military action against Taiwan — without intervention by the U.S.

When asked whether Biden would return to Obama-era policies when dealing with China, Copley agreed, alleging that "Nobody has worked harder for the election of the Biden administration than Xi Jinping and the Communist Party of China." He claimed that China devoted resources toward the election of Biden because his victory would provide relief from the "pressures which the Trump administration was putting on them."

The Chinese need to learn English and the Latin alphabet and get rid of their primitive chicken scratch hieroglyphics.

I didn't google wrong. I typed something in which was "Mark Zuckerberg China" and there was a tab that said EXACTLY what I posted. The tab suggestion said: "Should I learn Chinese?" and it said "CHINESE IS THE MOST SPOKEN LANGUAGE IN THE WORLD"

I can provide a screenshot if you like.

Complain to Google.

A lot of them do speak English actually. I think their writing is beautiful. It is their government that is screwed up. The CCP.

But the point is, if Biden becomes President, learn Chinese, because that is where they will send you to the gulags.

More than 1.2 billion people speak Chinese.

One billion of them are dirt poor. Learn Mandarin if you need to speak with a billion communist poor people.

Westerners mainly get to know the children of China's upper class, and from that get a distorted impression of what is average in China. The truth is shocking. The average English speaker wouldn't want much to do with the billion brainwashed CCP soulless drones.

More than a year ago, in August 1919, I wrote the following reply which seems to have withstood the test of time and, sadly, tells us that the bet by the Chinese that they should keep their markets as open as possible in America hoping for the defeat of Donald Trump paid off:

China’s New Strategy: Outlast Donald Trump [headline]

Hardly a new strategy. This strategy has been apparent for quite some time. On July 14 I wrote this reply:

China has other very significant considerations on its plate. It is in a make or break war with the United States to become the world’s dominant economic and military power. Trump has directly confronted that ambition and threatens to derail it. In breaking off trade negotiations and reneging on its agreements, China has concluded that it must prevail over Trump if it is to realize its ambitions. It might be thinking that it need not prevail over the United States, merely temporize until the 2020 election or until internal domestic pressure to withdraw tariffs becomes too great for Trump to withstand.

On August 6, I wrote this which anticipates very neatly the article leading this thread:

The real questions are, what is China doing and why?

China's obviously buying market share, or, more accurately, protecting market share to compensate for the tariffs with lower prices. Why is China doing this? I believe it is motivated by more than the obvious need to hold onto its market share in exports, it is a signal that China is not going to come to an agreement before 2020.

I think it tells us that China believes that its downside risks of inflation and loss of reserves can be managed very easily in this command economy, at least until 2020. It tells us that China is keeping its factories open by reducing prices so that civil unrest-the biggest chronic fear of China's elite-can be managed, at least in the short term.

Most importantly, this move tells us that China is not in this game as a game but as a existential war. I think they know they can survive very well until 2020 and if Trump is reelected they can go on until 2024.

We must understand that China regards this not as a trade war but as and existential war for survival. They are fully committed, we have Democrats and rinos.

.............

A month or so ago I wrote another reply saying in effect that this election will turn on trivial issues but history will write that the election decided whether America would survive or succumb to the existential threat to its survival mounted by China.

At the time of these year old replies the extent of Joe Biden's venal corruption with China was not so clearly established and certainly not generally known by the electorate. Alas, they remain so through the election.

One such reply concluding with the admonition, "it's China, stupid!"

They need to examine the 50% of the Biden and Act Blue donations who were listed in as being from “unemployed” donors.

Are these disguised foreign contributions?

” I think their writing is beautiful.”

ChiComs screwed that up too dictating Simplified characters as the standard. Now only Taiwan and Hong Kong know real Chinese writing.

Communists destroy everything.

That is 100% accurate analysis. Thanks. And that is the way we have to see it.

Probably not. But we would see a stream of refugees fleeing and rescue them and bring them here. And that wouldnt be so bad since they are probably more pro American than all of Portland and Seattle.

Taiwan is a nice country but they vote for big government owing to their high population density. Their young workers get raped with hidden taxes paying for “free” healthcare for all.

"No American President would intervene if China invaded Taiwan."

Agreed. There is even some thought that the Taiwanese government would mount only a token defense due to a vibrant fifth column on the island of Formosa.
