With Trump's Loss, Murdoch's Fox News Faces Wrath And Tough Choices
NPR ^ | Nov 7 2020 | DAVID FOLKENFLIK

There may be no media figure more important in preparing Republicans and President Trump himself for a post-Trump period than magnate Rupert Murdoch.

Among his properties, the top-rated Fox News Channel stands out, its role in shaping conservative thought and Republican Party politics unrivaled, at least within media. Murdoch allied himself with Trump despite holding the former reality show host in low esteem. And Fox has been one of Trump's strongest sources of support. So how the channel presented Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden's rising election fortunes matters. Deeply.

On Tuesday night, Fox News became the first major news outlet to declare that Biden would win Arizona. An angry Jared Kushner, the president's son-in-law, dialed Murdoch to demand he reverse the network's call.

I saw a Fox in my backyard today. Cute little guy and probably the only Fox I’ll see, unless a lady of certain quality happens to walk in my backyard.

This tactic to intimidate is the same tactic used by the left. I’ll watch whatever programming I want. I like Bartiromo, Varney, Kilmeade, Ducey, Gutfeld, Watters, McDonald, Dobbs, Tucker, Hannity and Laura.

I do not like Cavuto, Williams, Wallace, and probably others but I’m not going to throw out the baby with the bath water. There is no other alternative with the coverage of FOX. Turn off those you do not like. That’s what I do.

What’s up with Fox? Are they trying to bend over backwards, to prove that they are liberal?

Yes. Chris Wallace was the beginning of the end IMHO. Donna Brazile sort of sealed the deal. I never minded seeing two sides. I enjoyed Hannity and Colmes (whatever happened to him anyway). Wallace’s snarky pontificating and “gotcha” mentality (to seemingly prove how much smarter he is than everybody) really accelerated their decline from their once unique ability to be fair. They’ve always had opinion hosts that were upfront about their leanings. Now they’re all about regurgitating leftist talking points as if they’re known fact.

I think at some point they decided it was more important to be accepted by their colleagues than by their audience.

Dear conservatives,

Thank you for continuing to watch one or more of our evening or weekend shows, like Tucker, Laura, or Judge Jeanine. You are providing ratings for Fox and that helps us pay for Chris Wallace and our other Trump-hating news anchors and reporters.

Stick with us because we’re all in this together!

Best,

The Murdoch kids and Paul Ryan

Why? How is that going to help the conservative cause? We need to replace these obnoxious lefties with more good conservatives.

Alan Colmes died 4-5 yrs ago. He was liberal and a good person, with none of the snarky liberalism that is prevalent now.

“its role in shaping conservative thought”

Wrong, conservative thought shapes Fox. Or it used to.

A RARE REPORT ON PNAE, WITH MURDOCH & SOROS CONNECTIONS:

26 Jan 2016: Breitbart: The Anti-Trump Network: Fox News Money Flows into Open Borders Group
by Julia Hahn
The announcement from Donald Trump’s campaign that the Republican frontrunner will “definitely not” partake in Thursday night’s Fox News debate has sent shock waves throughout the nation’s political scene.
At a press event Tuesday evening, Trump seemed to cite disparate treatment from the network as his reasoning for not participating. “What’s wrong over there, something’s wrong,” Trump said of the “games” Roger Ailes and the network are “playing.”

In asking the question of “what’s wrong over there?” Trump has shined a spotlight on one of Washington’s best kept secrets: namely, Fox’s role via its founder Rupert Murdoch in pushing an open borders agenda. The Trump campaign is a direct threat to Murdoch’s efforts to open America’s borders. Well-concealed from virtually all reporting on Fox’s treatment of Trump is the fact that Murdoch is the co-chair of what is arguably one of the most powerful immigration lobbying firms in country, the Partnership for a New American Economy (PNAE).

In addition to blanketing the country, media, and politicians with literature, advertisements, and a barrage of lobbyists pushing for open border immigration policies, the Partnership for A New American Economy (PNAE) was a prime lobbyist for one of the biggest open borders pushes in American history: Marco Rubio’s 2013 Gang of Eight immigration bill...

While Megyn Kelly made headlines with her heated questioning of Donald Trump, not one of the Fox News anchors asked Rubio in the first Fox News debate about his signature piece of legislation, which Murdoch’s immigration lobbying firm had endorsed. Instead, they lobbed Rubio a series of softballs, such as asking Rubio if he could put God and veterans in the same sentence.
Interestingly, Bill Sammon — FOX News’s vice president of News and Washington managing editor — is the father of Brooke Sammon, who is Rubio’s press secretary...

Sen. Rubio introduced legislation last year — the Immigration Innovation Act — which would have tripled H-1B visa issuances. This legislation was endorsed by Murdoch via the Partnership for a New American Economy, on whose board also sits Disney CEO Bob Iger...

As any casual viewer of Fox News would observe, one sees scant to any coverage at all on the record-setting, foreign-born population inside the United States; nor coverage of census findings that immigration is about to surpass all historical records; nor stories on the total number of immigrants allowed into the country each year and the strain this number puts on education, the economy, the welfare states and the profound changes to U.S. culture. By not covering these issues in any real depth, it helps clear the way for the enactment of the Murdoch-backed immigration agenda — bringing in the New American Century hoped for by Rupert Murdoch, Marco Rubio, and Barack Obama.

Newsmax TV is non-agitprop tv, though, right? I am looking for one of the remaining free state, tv channels, while they exist.

The same Fox News tried to take out Trump in the 2016 Election. Go watch a 2016 Debate.

Welcome to the Party.

No. Fox was on its way out with conservatives the minute they brought in the criminal cheat Donna Brazille, the DEM’s operative Chris Wallace, Marie Harf Obama’s liar, Jessica Tarlov, Jedediah don’t know her last name and let’s not forget the deon Juan Williams. We all know it. So it has nothing to do with Trump.

Your list is good. Donna Brazile is the worst, though, as she is a criminal for tampering with the outcome of an election. She’s even more disgusting because she continues to proclaim that she’s a “Christian”. Ultimate in sleaze.

Fox News’ parent company endorsed John Kerry in 2004. They’ve been swampy liberals for a long time.

There have been some conservative talkers on there at times if they don’t get too uppity. But FOX always provided “balance” representation

And it is irritating hearing their radio news hourly updates that never have been balanced. ALWAYS what the Democrats (Pelosi and Schumer) were saying without a counter view or challenge. The Democrats make a charge and that’s that.

I stopped watching except for highlights on the net long before FOX went commie. TV is useless to me except for watching old movies and TV shows. Last night we saw some Perry Mason.

I stopped watching for good when they wouldn’t call FL and called AZ. I was seething at Wallace before that - now done.

Has Hannity or Tucker said anything about the mass exodus from FOX since election night?

FOX (meaning its owners) can do whatever it wants. That’s what they are doing. It’s their business. Don’t like it, don’t watch. That’s been the common reaction by conservatives so far.

The trouble with trying to appeal to those who hate you, is that your appeals will only make them hate you even more, and Fox will end up with the smallest audience of all.
