Perhaps, but the United States had a Pacific Front with a looming invasion of the Japanese homeland. Resources were more needed there than fighting the Russians on the Polish frontier

True...but we were best positioned to do so.

I'd bet we could've enlisted the Germans to fight the Russians and they would have.

Plus...we had the bomb. Even with their theft of the Manhattan Project it took the Ruskies until 1949 to get theirs.

After Okinawa, no one wanted to move on Russia. Damn..we let them take over Asia/Korea. We were in no shape to handle them.

Too many people here played Risk in their youth.
