My handy-dandy Newspeak media translation guide for political ideology labels:

Media labels vs. Reality:
Blue = Red
Socialist/Left-wing = Stalinist
Liberal = Marxist
Moderate/(Centrist) = Socialist
Conservative = Liberal
Far-Right = Moderate
Ultraright/Racist/Bigot = Conservative Mainstream
