Something happened in my house this week that those who know me will find unbelievable: I cut the remaining cord to cable news. Fox News, the only remaining cable news source I considered somewhat trustworthy, found itself banned from my home with all other cable news.
The app has been deleted, along with all news apps associated with Fox News. An overwhelming peace came in doing so, not unlike the peace that came from deleting my Twitter account in July. The Twitter cesspool is not worth swimming in. Parler is now my go-to social media app, while independent news sources with journalistic integrity are now my go-to for news.
Having worked a significant portion of my life as a news reporter and editor, journalism will always be in my blood. I crave news and information like some crave chocolate. That will likely never change. What will change is where I get that news and information.
While there are many reasons which factored into my decision, the final proverbial straw came when Fox News continued to deny any credible evidence of election/voter fraud. Such declarations were often delivered by anchors with a sneer and a smirk. With social media and big tech-monopolies banning and censoring evidence of verifiable election fraud, even Fox News likely feels safe in perpetuating the nothing to see here lie. The problem for these censoring overlords and truth-deniers is that election fraud is, in fact, taking place. When dead people somehow rise from the grave to vote, that is election fraud.

“Newsmax is available thru Cox Cable here in So. CA.”
Newsmax is also available streaming on Pluto TV.
Newsmax is also available on Spectrum!!!
I cut the cord almost a year ago. It took me one day to adjust and it wasn’t content adjustment, it was equipment adjustment. Just a simple little FireTV remote that controls the TV and Fire Stick.
Ton of free apps for FireTV. Tubi, IMDB TV and Crackle for free movie and TV content.
PlutoTV is the app most might be interested in. Tons of free movie and TV content, and it includes Newsmax, OAN, BlazeTV and Sky News - all live, all free.
I also have Hulu Live, which gives me live TV, including local affiliates.
In the end, I saved a few bucks. I spent good portion of my savings upping my internet speed to 250mbps.
Newsmax does stream for free in multiple places. PlutoTV is one of those places.
Getting rid of cable / satellite is easy. You won’t miss it after you settle into a new routine. First, get some decent antennas for your televisions (be careful as they are not all created equal - some of them are total junk despite bold promises on their advertising). You should be able to get several dozen free over the air stations, depending on your location.
To supplement the antenna, get a streaming box like a Roku. When setting it up, ignore all of the offers for “free trials” as you will end up getting charged and you want the free apps anyway. It will pre-install a bunch of apps which are pay for services. Delete all of these apps in pre-installed and then manually search and install YouTube (not “YouTube TV” - there is a difference), PlutoTV (where you can find Newsmax streaming - this app looks a lot like a cable / satellite menu), Weather Nation (and put in your zip code for local forecasts), STIRR, VUDU (free side), Popcornflix (one word running together - not “Popcorn Flix” with a space - that is junk), Peacock, Crackle, IHeartRadio, MyTuner, Xumo, Redbox, TubiTV, The Roku Channel, CBS Sports Stream and Watch Live (if you want sports highlights and discussion, otherwise just ignore) - for kids, HappyKids and KiDoodle if you need them.
Way more than enough to keep you busy - zero reason to pay monthly fees for TV.
But PlutoTV is free whereas Spectrum is not. :)
I just switched to AT&T Fiber Internet. 1 Gig download speeds for under $50 per month.
so do we keep Spectrum TV and cancel all the rest of the apps? confused here. I want to do the right thing.
Keep your apps BUT keep spectrum Newsmax is very good I didnt even realize Spectrum carried Newsmax discovered it quite accidentally!!!

Me too. Just several weeks ago. I have the Fox News App and will do away with those now. I am Tech challenged so don't know a lot about cable TV. I have it but don't know much of changing settings etc.
Dunno.
>Not watching
>
>Fox still gets money if you have cable.
>
>To starve the beast, cable needs to be cut.
Agreed. Don’t forget about Sirius/XM if you have the premium package which includes the news channels. Just upgraded my packages to music only now. Kills the sports channels too but I never used them anyway
Check out KlowdTV for OAN.
Sister found this. So I really don’t know how it works because she does all the tech stuff.

Bear in mind a rerun of Tucker is available on youtube a few minutes after his broadcast on Fox.
OAN is free on USTVGO.TV
Just need internet.
