I appreciate the sentiment, but I doubt it would result in his re-election. I'm reminded of the immensely popular Teddy Roosevelt's comeback attempt with the Bull Moose movement. It was formidable, but no cigar.
It's hard to fight an established major US party. The single obvious exception is the Republican succession to the disintegrating Whigs.
Teddy changed too many positions and talked more like Wilson. He hated Taft.
