Indeed, I think Biden is in the “Romney Position” in more ways that one. He’s the candidate the party settled on and doesn’t quite stand for anything besides getting elected.

Candidates like that tend to lose.

Yup. If Democrats don’t want him, why should the rest of us?

I think this election is like 1996

An old out of touch has been of the party against an opponent with a strong economy and a sitting president that is very popular WITHIN his own party. True, Republicans passionately hated Clinton, but that wasn’t enough.

Yeah. My hopeful prayer is that in the coming weeks we will hear the word “enthusiasm” a lot. It is entirely predictable that the navel gazers in the media (the few honest ones who are left) will point to this one word to explain how/why they were so wrong.

Clinton had oodles of enthusiasm, especially among women voters, compared to Biden. She also had some of the shine with Obama voters and that is dead now too. To me, the Clinton campaign was far more formidable than the Biden campaign. They will also try to blame Covid, but that one makes me laugh because THEY are the ones who created the Covid factor in the election with shut-downs.

Not that Biden is worthy to shine Bob Dole’s shoes, but it does have that feel of back in 96, when we knew Bob had no shot. That has to be how most Democrats feel. Clinton may have been vulnerable, but Dole wasn’t the guy who could beat him.

IIRC the media was against Romney, while in 2020 they are fanatically opposed to Trump. You and I don't care what the media wants, but there are some gullible voters out there.
