do you live in the dc area? if you did, you would know that believing trump will win northern va is like believing trump can win san francisco, nyc, seattle, philly, baltimore or any other blue city.

Not all of Va is liberal. It is Northern Virginia that is liberal and sorry to say that is where the majority of the population is. Basically DC suburb.
