When I was young, I was in a boys club that was run by a little church down on the corner. The leaders were mainly three older men. All were strong outdoorsmen.
The oldest was a contemporary of Fred Bear and I suspect they ran in the same circles.
I’m now that old man. While I’m not much of a hunter, I’m strongly into outdoor adventures. I became a Boy Scout leader and when they lost their way morally, I transferred over to Trail Life USA.
Last weekend I joined two troops for a shooting sports campout and guided about 30 young men in the projectile sports.
They also got to enjoy as Nugent calls it, The Mystical Flight of the Arrow.
