How do these people who "come out" after having families reconcile their new "identity" with the fact that it took natural, heterosexual actions and relationships to produce the family that they say they love? They have essentially renounced that part of their lives. Does it follow that they renounce the "love" that conceieved them?

Plenty of people who don't announce themselves to be gay "renounce the love" that led them to conceive their children. It's unfortunate that this comes out as a news story and something political. I don't think his kids necessarily view it that way or take it as a rejection of themselves and their existence.
