In fact, the proposed amendment does only one thing: It removes taxpayer protections from the IL Constitution.
If passed, then the politicians can do whatever they want, including targeting any group of taxpayers they desire. They need only target a different group each year or two to never have enough opposition to be stopped or limited. Presently, this is prohibited.
That’s just the 1st ramification.
To Illinoisans, particularly most Dems, I would ask: Do YOU trust the politicians presently running IL, especially when it comes to money? If you do, you are a damn fool.
