To: grundle

When the US had a smaller population, life was pretty good for workers. A one income family could live a decent life, and there was a balance between work and family and leisure time.

China and India have been densely populated for a long time; they have produced societies that are more desperate, dog eat dog, nose to the grindstone, work long hours. The consequences of being on the lower rungs are grim.

People with that kind of work ethic will rise to the top in any society, but the immigrants will change the society that receives them.

Well my neighborhood here in suburban DFW is mostly Indian, and it’s a fairly well-to-do neighborhood.
