I hope you’re right with respect to fear porn affecting only Democrats. I attend a large, independent Bible church in the northern Dallas suburbs with a very well known pastor. Masks are recommended but not mandatory. Yet over 90% of church attenders wear masks in the church lobby. This is a church where Trump bumper stickers are on several cars. Too many of the members of my church have bought the MSM narrative.
I wear a mask in public places for the same reason I don’t light my cigars in public places—not because of the fear porn but just because life is too short to antagonize folks for no reason.
I wouldn’t read too much into mask-wearing.
