What I see is a ‘herd mentality’ in action. Females are more social than males, this is both by biology and anthropology. Females make the home by being the child-bearers and child carers. Safe homes are not single homes but are rather communities. Is this article not pointing out that communities can now be formed by same-sex partners?

Current society has, since the 1960s, emphasized that hippy mantra of “Do your own thing”! What has changed from the generations prior to this 60s change is the ABILITY to live a single life. Previously, single-hood was impractical to the point of failure/fatality for multiple and obvious reasons; manual labor, diseases and majority rural agricultural subsistence. New Age idiocy about the old social norms IGNORES FACTS about their very real benefits for the conditions.

Now, in this age of very real abundance, the benefit perception has swung to a near opposite. Short term and multiple relationships show little immediate damage to the individual or society (note ‘immediate’ here) while long term relationships are almost a surprise when revealed. What I do see is an actual deprecation of what used to ‘normal’ as so many things highlight dangers of spousal abuse while giving acceptance to same-sex relations EVEN WHEN those have much the same abuses. However, in my view, a lot of what we see is is short-sided and superficial AND like this article identifies, a societal disruptor.

I speak now from a personal perspective, I am a senior male who never formed a relationship because of a lot of things personal and otherwise. I have all of the worldly goods I will ever need, I have friendships but I have run out of (outlived) family. While I know that I probably missed opportunities in the past, at this point all that does is provoke the regret. I cannot even be buried next to family as they are all in a National Cemetery and I was 4F due to eyesight. I am decidedly unhappy on this aspect of my life.

When this generation of LGBT women and their unmatched males get older, what kind of society will they make? I can see the causes but the outcomes baffle me, no, they scare me! By the Bible and the Iliad and the Hindu & China histories, society was some variation of male to female bonding over the past 12k years at the very least. Can this be successfully replaced and functional in mere decades?

Interesting post.

I was lucky enough to get dumped by my first love. It hurt badly at the time, but she became a militant (and fairly prominent) feminist—if we had gotten married it would have been a disaster.

I got married later in life to a farmer’s daughter—who still can split wood like she was taught as a child—and appreciates every thing we have been blessed with... This wonderful lady is voting Trump—for the second time!

;-)
