I remember reading that Dan Quayle would remove his wedding ring before debates and speeches because he had a habit of playing with it while he was speaking.
And he was considered the dumb one.
One more question, Why would you touch your watch when reading the time? Both Bush and Biden did that? Is that some elitist thing?

Why would you touch your watch when reading the time? Both Bush and Biden did that? Being frugal he still uses an original LED watch that required you to push the button to light up the characters.
