If Trump were to use the debate as a vehicle to attack Hunter, Joe just has to do a “there he goes again, attacking my family”. The moderator might point out that Hunter isn’t running for office, Joe is and ask Trump if he could focus on that and the actual issues up for debate.
The last debate leaves the last impression. If it’s of a steady, focused hand at the helm, that would be a plus for Trump. If the last impression is of utter out of control chaos it’ll be a long election night next month.
