How to Win Back the House in 2020
American Thinker.com ^ | October 21, 2020 | Jon N. Hall

One of the worst set of choices the American electorate ever made was the 2018 midterm elections that gave the U.S. House of Representatives to the Democrats. Those decisions gave us “the Squad,” led by socialist Sandy O, a.k.a. AOC. In promoting their harmful un-American ideas, such as the Green New Deal, a ban on fracking, reparations for slavery, forgiving college debt, open borders, and tons of “free stuff,” the Squad was able to enlist veteran Democrats like Sen. Ed Markey in their cause. To satisfy fringe elements in their benighted base, House Democrats launched the insane impeachment of the president, and just as the coronavirus began infecting the nation. At the center of all the idiocy and dysfunction is the person whom the obedient new Democrat majority saw fit to make Speaker of the House: Nancy Pelosi.

During the 2018 campaigns, Americans were warned about the folly of giving the House back to Democrats. They were reminded that the first trillion-dollar deficits came about when Democrats controlled spending. Even before the pandemic hit, the deficit was already on track to yet again top $1 trillion. But the coronavirus gave Crazy Nancy the excuse to borrow and spend like never before. In fact, on October 8 we learned that Congress ran a 2020 deficit of $3.1 trillion. That’s more than three times the deficit of the previous year and smashes the old record of $1.4T set in 2009. Pelosi was Speaker when we ran our first trillion-dollar deficit, and she’s Speaker now, when we return to trillion-dollar deficits. See a pattern?

Pelosi has given the novel coronavirus a new moniker. Rather than calling it the “Wuhan virus,” or the “China virus” as the president does, our dowager empress has dubbed it the “Trump Virus.”

Our side let 2018 happen. Stayed home and didn’t vote.

No.

Republican turnout in most areas was UP nicely over any other recent midterm election; Democrat turnout broke records as the anti-Trump hysteria among the Karens was off the charts, and it still is.

Then factor in vote fraud (California was only the most obvious example) and the result of just-implemented partisan Democrat gerrymandering in states such as PA, VA & FL (with more to come this year in NC), and that’s the main reason why 2018 in the House went the way it did. Not Republican apathy by any stretch of the imagination.

After all, Congress “controls the purse strings.” Spending legislation starts in the House; Pelosi runs the House; hence the Pelosi Deficit.

But needs to be passed in the Senate and signed by the President as well, right?

I have been voting since 1980 and have never missed voting. I might not vote on everything that’s on the ballot especially if it doesn’t interest me. For example why should I vote for someone that runs for Highway supervisor, or someone that wants to raise my property tax?

Ballot harvesting is why the Left TOOK the House in 2018. Something like 30 races still open after Election Day, with the Right leading in over half. And then VOILA! The Right only wins 3 of those seats??? When the Left knows how many they need to win, they will keep counting ballots from ‘nowhere’ until they get to the magic number.

(Shhhhh, ask Al Franken how that works)

Ryan threw the House to the Dems. Retired in office, raised very little money and made sure a record number of GOP Congressman “retired”.

”House Republicans should promise to draft former Speaker Gingrich for his old job. That might just help the GOP regain the majority.”

That’s how? Clickbait.

Some conservatives are “purist”. They will not vote for somebody who upset them in one minute point. It sometimes draws me nuts. “I will not vote for ..., because he once said that ...”
From what I see, the most liberal Rino Republican is far to the right to the most conservative Democrat! In some places, conservatives just cannot win, so thanks God for a Rino! If you do not want that particular Republican, vote them out in primary! That is the place to weed out Rinos.
Or run yourself! It is often very hard to find anybody who is willing to be a candidate.
But some people will rather have Pelosi and radical left in charge, instead of a solid conservative Republican, who somehow managed hurt their sensitivity once.
Remember R. Reagan 11th commandment! Practice it!

Want to win? Start and spread the ‘meme’: “YOU CAN VOTE TO NOT HAVE YOUR S*IT BURNT DOWN!” Make it go viral. Imagine a Chris Rock type character doing it in the style of the “How to not get your ass whipped/beaten by the police” video of his. IF SOMEBODY WILL START A THREAD ON THIS IDEA I WILL MAKE ANOTHER CONTRIBUTION TO FR, plus it will improve the odds on the low percentage proposition of Republicans winning the house. Does anybody really want to win? ...Well...”DO YA PUNKS?” (I’ll stay logged in today, ping me to it.) Thanks for any consideration of the idea.

If there is an activist ping list, and they are pinged to these posts I would also contribute for that....

Here in Orange County CA. it was Bloomberg money buying congressional seats with MILLIONS! Not so this year. We lost CA48 to Harley Rouda and I am banking on MICHELLE STEEL to take it back...! IT A TOSS-UP! I encourage those helping win back the house to donate anything in the final stretch as TV ads are hitting full force now locally.

Some conservatives are "purist".
This argument is a straw man.

...he once said that...
Though there may be individuals who are like what you describe, who will not vote for someone over "one minute point", you may eventually come to understand that this phenomenon is much larger than anything that can be summarized by such a description. I suspect that your friend was not moved by your argument. And I suspect that there was much more to his complaint than what he told you or what you were willing to hear.

From what I see..
And you criticise those who do not see things your way.

At this point there are so many "Never Rinos" (Is there a better name?) and the phenomenon has had, and will continue to have a real effect on elections, that it will not retreat under the kind of argument you are using here. The burden of proof falls on you. There is no concern for your tender emotions. If this "sometimes drives (you) nuts", then that is your concern and there are few if any perhaps other than me and the individual you quoted in your comment who are interested in dialogue with you.

Accept the burden of proof, if you want to persuade. Use social pressure and scorn the way the Dems do, and you will have no effect. That may not be as important as is the internal emotional pressure you feel, that compulsion to "say" something no matter how little effect it may have, then you must accept the failure of an argument. IOW you need me; I don't need you.

Once again, the restatement of the "lesser of two evils" argument fails to persuade.

Note to Moderator: If there is such a thing as ‘activists’ here with a ping list, and you ping them to this thread I’d appreciate it. Sorry, juggling too many cases these days to figure out thread initiation and ping list tracking, but if there are any ‘real’ activists here with time and expertise/contacts/networks of likeminded folks, they’ll want in on this idea. Thanks. M44.
