A lot of people backup their iphones to their computers for pictures or music or whatever. Whenever you do this, the entire phone contents can be unintentionally backed up to the computer.

Also, the computer technician may not have had the forensic software the FBI does. They can examine the hard drive and in many cases retrieve deleted content.

If you have a Mac you can text message on your computer. Its all synced with iphone messaging.
