They’ve got the goods on him and rolled him over. By now he may even fear for the lives of his family.

Roberts is an exact replica of the man who nominated him. Bush was never conservative. He was always a country club moderate RINO type and he nominate a man who was moderately conservative. Roberts is not a strict constructionist. I despise the man and he has done more to hurt his beloved court then any justice before him. I kinda wish he would join RBG.

BS Roberts is exactly what it appears. He has been good on 2nd Amendment but crap on every social issue. Worst Justice in our history.

Secrets we won’t live long enough to learn like JFK, Aliens, Area 51 and other stuff.
Maybe he woke up with a horse head in his bed or found some dead critters in his
kids’ beds or the bunny got boiled.
To: OldGoatCPO
But hey, Roberts and his wife are now more acceptable to their liberal neighbors. Isn’t that what’s most important? /sarc

There ought to be a rule for SCOTUS.
After 10 years serving as a Justice, that a president can replace him/her with a new appointee, but only if the majority of Americans wish for it, via a petition that collects at least 20 million votes (verified and only one vote per person) to replace or just outright FIRE him/her.
When you don’t represent the wishes of the people that sent you there, then you should be sent out the door.

At least RBG had principals (ones I disagree with) but Roberts is like a freaking traitor.

Use Obama as you test case, and see if you really want to
give him that kind of power.

It would NOT be the power of the president alone. The people would have to be involved, and it would be after 10 years serving as Justice. And, a lot of Justices would be in SCOTUS longer than the maximum that a president serves. In addition, it would be the same for any president, regardless of party affiliation. Think about how it would be if Trump had the power. Obama might not have gotten into the presidency if the people knew that he had THIS kind of power.
If not this kind of limit and control, then, automatic retirement at 80 years of age. Most people WANT to be retired way before 80, so, why should Justice's term be limited by death or near death/
