When they started bussing, I lived 2 blocks from the school. They were going to bus me to one of the crappiest parts of town.
I was going to have to walk to school 1 1/2 hours early to catch a bus to take me to school and then the same to go home.
My parents said “no way” and removed us from school. Went to a private school the next 1 1.2 years till we moved out of town.
Within 15 years, most of the public schools were complete trash.
