Buttigieg still supports expanding Supreme Court, defends Biden claim that Barrett nom is 'unconstitutional'

Former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg, who now serves on Joe Biden's transition team, said he continues to support the concept of increasing the size of the Supreme Court, and defended the Democratic presidential nominee's claim that the nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett is unconstitutional.

In 2019, Buttigieg supported the idea of a 15-member Supreme Court. Now, in a "Fox News Sunday" interview, he claimed that Republicans who speak out against changing the size of the high court are merely trying trying to distract from other issues.

Here’s what Biden is doing. He knows that Dems are voting now so he wants to hint that he’ll go with packing. He says that he won’t say until the GOP takes its vote and that his decision will depend on whether they do the right thing. The Dem core assumes that means he’ll go with packing if they approve Barrett. But on election day he’ll announce that no, packing would be a bad idea. By then most Dems will have already voted and so he’ll only need to pander to the GOP voters. Then of course once the election is over he will pack the court anyway.

It is an outrages thing to do. There is question they are greasing the skids to actually do this and they will. But is is not unconstitutional.

Is he really that ignorant/stupid about the Constitution? I guess so.

Maybe. Or he believes that the Constitution is a "living document" so it can mean whatever they want.

“””and defended the Democratic presidential nominee’s claim that the nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett is unconstitutional.””””

He is correct. I read the Constitution and it clearly says that no REPUBLICAN President can do anything unless the media and democrats( same thing) say it is ok.

It says that right next to the part that says abortion is a womans right.

“Buttigieg still supports expanding Supreme Court, defends Biden claim that Barrett nom is ‘unconstitutional’”

So is he saying that the Supreme Court can rule on matters that directly affect them? Seems that way, since that’s the body that determines the constitutionality of actions that take place in government.

So that’s good to hear from a Democrat and it obviously then means that the Supreme Court can rule on a politically-driven expansion of the Court.

Once, just once, I’d like to hear one these a**holes be asked what is unconstitutional about the appointment and confirmation of Judge (Justice) Barrett. Every single time they are allow to spew the absolute lies about the process without being required to prove what they say, reinforces the perception that the process is being corrupted.

Let’s wait and see how many of those “women” supporting, Democrat senators vote for her conformation. Probably none because they were embarrassed by her ability to correct there voluminous notes and diatribes without having to look at a single piece of information. Her brilliance put them to shame (if they were capable of shame).
