I’m guessing Mitch had something to do with this too. Like, if you stab me in the back on this one, the only committee you will ever Chair is the Senate Latrine Committee.
Some of these Senators realize that they will be in Washington longer than Trump, who will be gone in four years. Putting Barrett on the court is a good long term move.
