He was set to moderate a presidential debate, and he sent a tweet, apparently thinking it was a private message, to a famously anti-Trump person, asking them for advice on how to handle Trump during the debate. Then he deleted the tweet, but not before everyone had screenshotted it. Then he claimed he was hacked.
