He may have gone to a Civil Rights meeting once or twice on a Sunday. He almost certainly would not have gone to the religious service itself. Catholic in the 1950s didn’t do that sort of thing, even if they had gone to Mass already. Teen boys in the ‘50s would not go to two religious services in one day unless forced.
