President Donald Trump called on Republicans to skip the four-day Supreme Court confirmation hearings for Judge Amy Coney Barrett and quickly move onto a confirmation vote — so they could work on approving a stimulus package instead.

Trump has a point. Sending stimulus checks out to unemployed people - QUICKLY - will help him win re-election.
If the GOP stands on “conservative principles” and fails to do stimulus, they might have to live with President Biden/Harris for the next four years - and what kind of victory is THAT for “conservative principles”?
I could not agree more with the President. I was just saying that. Hurry up and vote and don’t give a platform for Chucky Schumer, Pelosi, or the future (I hope NOT) president Harris, to pontificate.
It must get done because unless it is a clear landslide, there will be court challenges and lawyers involved. And it will eventually get to the SCOTUS.

I think this is a great idea. Stop the hearings and take it to the floor because “We’re sick of the Dem’s wasting time with self-serving BS and we need to get help top the American People.” Vote on the floor and then straight to the stimulus. Jerk the rug right out from under the Dem’s. Don’t see how this could fail.

Unless it is a tax rebate or commensurate with an increase in the GDP, it is simply flooding the money supply with more dollars making the dollar worth less causing prices to go up at some point as overspending by the government always has - i.e. INFLATION, a net loss for the economy and individuals.
“Stimulus” - another phony political ploy for the unwary.

Well, SOMETHING brought the stock market and the economy back from the frightening nosedive last spring. You think the stimulus bill didn’t have anything to do with it? Have you talked to any small business owners who got “Paycheck Protection” money? I have, it kept them alive. That’s a fact.
Republicans need to grow a spine. The Senate Democrats have been running out the clock at every opportunity. I still remember how the House Democrats shut down the Republicans in their committee hearings. This isn’t tiddlywinks.

TAX CUTS, REGULATION CUTS, PRO-AMERICAN ECONOMIC POLICY, and COMMON SENSE is what has made the stock market and economy healthy again basically since Trump was elected. Not the stupid “stimulus”.
And if the market actually did trade up on the “stimulus”, it would nosedive from the resulting inflationary effects of such nonsense.
