It looks to me like the shooter invaded the victim’s space as his hand is extended, perhaps reaching for the bear spray. The victim reacted to the shooter’s approaching him, and getting too close. I would have smacked him too. It’s not an action that would call for the use of deadly physical force. I don’t see that the shooter is wearing any kind of identification that shows he is part of the media security. He has no visible ID.
This also shows that the “bodyguard” initiated first contact by trying to take the bear spray.
Aggressors don’t get to claim self-defense.
I see a big wrongful death lawsuit for the news station and the agency they hired this goon from.
