Vice President Mike Pence slammed his Democratic challenger, Sen. Kamala Harris, at the Wednesday vice presidential debate over racial disparities during her time as a prosecutor.
When you were when DA in San Francisco, when you left office, African Americans were 19 times more likely to be prosecuted for minor drug offenses than whites and Hispanics, Pence told Harris (D-California).
When you were Attorney General of California, you increased the disproportionate incarceration of blacks in California.
He added: You did nothing on criminal justice reform in California. You didnt lift a finger to the First Step Act on Capitol Hill. The reality is your record speaks for itself. President Trump and I have fought for criminal justice reform
and well do it for four more years.

She just more blacks than whites behind bars
I notice that some of conservative Twitter knocked Pence for this as it sort of buys into the larger narrative the disparate outcomes prove systemic racism (e.g., blacks disproportionately convicted due to racism rather than, you know, disproportionately committing crimes). I understand that point, but I think it was a clever attack. It’s not really about buying into the narrative but rather deflating/depressing some of the Biden/Harris black vote. And all Harris could do is lamely shake her head and say it wasn’t true. It wasn’t possible to her to respond or directly rebut without undermining the systemic racism myth. She couldn’t very well launch into her only legitimate defense (i.e., blacks disproportionately committing crimes).
Drudge is making a big deal about Pence having a bloody eye and a giant fly on his head for two minutes. Drudge = POS
Biden and Kamala's flip flops in this area are going to cost them heavily with the environmentalist lobby. As this was a major part of their platform.
Now, with their history of persecuting minorities has been exposed (no thanks to the press) their base in the riot ravaged Democrat cities is largely gone.
They will get some rabidly anti-Trump votes, but many of the Democrat voters will, because of this, simply stay at home and just not vote in disgust.
Didnt’ she brag about putting people in prison for smoking pot..while she was snoking pot?
“it was a clever attack. Its not really about buying into the narrative but rather deflating/depressing some of the Biden/Harris black vote.”
Exactly right.
As always, there’s a lot of Monday morning quarterbacking going on after the debate. I’m not interested in those folks. However, I am interested in seeing what pundits have to say about who won and who lost. And I don’t spend a lot of time searching for those either.
I saw the debate and listened carefully to the questions and answers. I formed my own opinions and, so far, nothing I’ve read gives me cause to reassess.
Pence won handily.
Heard almost none of her record whatsoever, in this DeepAffirmativeActionDebate.
Because the moderators should be timekeepers only. The candidates the questioners only
Typical Democrat... Do as I say, not as I do... Prime example... Cuomo... Wants everybody wearing a mask... Except for him of course.
who opened the door to harris’ prosecution record in the first place?
Here is a little Babylonian Jewish history that I find interesting and relevant, It involves Bustenai, a descendant of King David, who became leader of the Jews in Babylon (the Exilarch). The symbol of the Exilarch included the image of a fly:
Forty-Fifth Generation: Bustenai. In Seder Hadorot it is written in the name of Sefer Yohasin that in the year 4420 the matter of Bustenai and Dudava came to pass, and he was called Mar Zutra.
At that time, the Persian king decreed and killed all of the House of David, from the great to the small, and left no remnant, other than one bride. Her husband was killed on the day of their wedding, when she had just become pregnant. The king had a dream in which he was walking through a garden and cutting down all the plants, leaving neither branch nor root, except for one small branch, which he almost destroyed. An old man then came and beat him until he bled, and when he awoke, there was blood spilled on the bed wherein he was sleeping. In the morning, one of the wise men of Israel came and interpreted his dream as referring to his having killed the House of David. He asked that it be ascertained whether there were any branch or root left, and in truth, there was none other than the pregnant bride. The king regretted having decimated the House of David, and he took it upon himself to watch over the child that would be born, and so he did. And it came to pass that when she gave birth to a son, she called his name Bustenai, after the garden the king had seen, which is called bustan in Arabic. The child grew up and the king commanded that he be brought to him, and he came and stood before the king from morning until evening. He stood in fear and awe before the king, and none of his limbs moved. A fly then came and bit him in his face until he bled, but he did not raise his hand to chase away the fly. When the king saw this great thing, he was very pleased, and he appointed him to be a judge. This is the reason that the image of a fly is engraved on their seal, because of the story of Butenai. So it says in Seder Hadorot page 47.
On page 50b there is a somewhat different version: The family of the House of David was destroyed for having pained Rabbi Hanina, the Head of the Yeshiva. Rabbi Hanina went to the synagogue, and cried so much that he filled a vessel with his tears and drank it. This was the reason for the demise of the House of David, and they all died in one night. The only remnant was the daughter of the said Rabbi Hanina, who had been married to someone from the House of David. Rabbi Hanina saw in a dream that he was standing in a garden with an ax in his hand and destroying the garden. An old red-haired man came, beat him until his face turned around backwards, and he said to him, Why are you destroying my garden? In the morning he asked the wise men if anyone remained from the House of David, and they replied, No one remains other than your daughter, who is pregnant. He went and sat with her until she gave birth, and as he was watching over her, his face retuned to its normal state. Now there was an in-law of the House of David who, when he saw that the descendants of the House of David had all died, bribed the king and was appointed Prince. When Bustenai grew up, he went to the king and the pretender was demoted. A fly then entered into the nose of that in-law of the House of David, and he died. This is the reason that the House of David has the image of a fly on its seal. In The Travels of Benyamin. Page 13b, it is written that the grave of the Prince Rabbi Bustenai, the Head of the Exile, is in Pompadita of Nahardaah.
Im calling it the Aunt Bea vs Howard Sprague Debate from the old Andy Griffith Show episode where they debated to win an open seat on the town council
It’s hard to believe “we the people” are faced with this level of subhuman deceit. It happens when you’re distracted. “Moderators” are distractors also. Pay attention.

Is that your victim card comma, la?
At least Kamel gives us something to talk about. Kamel is the Kaine of 2020.
Thanks
“I did not come here to be lectured by you” sounds an awful lot like “You dare not criticize me”!
Obviously, it is a posturer trying to smash the person effectively and forceffully conducting the job she can only lomg for, and which her boss Biden was a caricature in when he had it.
Who actually thinks this out when the action is going on?
only one in the camera's view, and that is Vice President Pence, who as a pastor has man-handled many such refractive detractors in his congregation. I saw that look on his face, and recognized it because I am a Methodist preacher's kid, and have also seen that type of insincere smile she was broadcasting while he castigated her.
Bah! Humbug!
