Its not a good idea to distract drivers. Thats why billboards have never been allowed for advertising.

This was a life and safety issue because there were concerns about distracted driving, Wonder said.

The property owner should sue the state for trespassing, at a minimum.

I remember the Burma Shave signs. Great read and eliminated boredom.

I assume the Hollywood sign is coming down, right? It can be seen from a road.

Guess the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia better close Highway 1 between Cambria and Carmel then - too much distracting scenery, cars going off the road and down the cliffs into the ocean. Better close Trail Ridge Road from Grand Lake through Rocky Mountain National Park to Estes Park, Colorado, too. Oh, don’t forget the highway down to Key West. Well, might as well close all roads.

The ‘life and safety’ argument ONLY holds water if they are also banning billboards along the roadside...

Everything is a distraction. Let’s see how fast they would take down a biden sign.

Well, if seeing a TRUMP sign will explode some drivers’ heads, I hope they drive off the freeway without hitting someone else.
Did the CALTRANS workers enter a 14-day quarantine after touching that sign?
Probably paid time off, with overtime, plus hazard pay.
For Life and Safety.
