U.S. Attorney John Bash, from the Western District of Texas, was given the responsibility by AG Barr of looking into the illegal unmasking by Obama-era officials in July of this year. Not only the illegal unmasking of General Flynn, but more extensive unmasking. Today Bash announced his abrupt resignation. Abrupt because he announced today, and he leaves on Friday. However, he does say he informed Barr last month:

He was charged with investigating the unmaskings and like Huber, did nothing.
My money says he was told to resign or be fired.
Rather obvious now that this attorney knew what was going to happen with the ‘investigation’ and bugged out.
Bash is an Obama guy and probably doesn’t feel comfortable prosecuting his political buddies and friends... so he decides to seek greener pastures. Interestingly enough, Barr appoints his own counselor Gregg Sofer to replace Bash. Somethings in the pipeline.
