Senator Cruz says Chief Justice John Roberts 'despises Donald Trump'

"I think it is personal," the Texas senator said about Justice John Roberts' motivation to turn away from the conservative movement with his court decisions

Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz says Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts "despises Donald Trump," which accounts for a number of the decisions he had made from the top seat on the high court in recent years.

In an appearance on David Brody's recently launched show "The Water Cooler," Senator Cruz, an attorney and author of the new book "One Vote Away: How a Single Supreme Court Seat Can Change History," told the host that "John Roberts has become the new Sandra Day O'Connor."

Cruz said he agrees with Vice President Mike Pence, who in an interview last month, told David Brody that Justice Roberts has been a "disappointment to conservatives."

However, Cruz believes that part of Roberts' pivot away from conservative-minded jurisprudence is motivated by personal hatred toward the president. "I think it is personal," said the senator.

"It is difficult to come up with two human beings more antithetical than John Roberts and Donald Trump, in every respect," he continued.

In addition to the release of his new book, the Senator is presently gearing up to begin the Judiciary Committee confirmation hearings of conservative Supreme Court nominee Judge Amy Coney Barrett.

He confirmed on "The Water Cooler" that believes, despite the challenges posed by coronavirus, that the committee has the capacity to move forward in a timely manner with the judge's hearing. Cruz also mentioned that Barrett, in a socially distanced form, met with lawmakers in the Mansfield room at the Capitol last week to prepare for the process.

Untreated that is far too few seizure to have over more than 10 years.

Maybe there is some neurological issue in the brain that is easily tapped, like febrile seizures.

I like cruise but he doesn’t seem to have much evidence for these claims.

Isn’t that just ducky. The ingrate. May he have terminal jock itch. Or something equally as nasty.

How about bedbugs? That would be fitting. :-)

We don't know, but I'd bet, he's taking medication like phenobarbital and dilenton. I have a family member who fell a few times over a period 0f about ten years or more...three times I think......ends up she has white brain matter disease, which because it's so deep in the brain it's not detected early on.

Someone should send him a fish to sleep with.

My father was an epileptic, on phenobarb and Dilantin for 60 years.

Point is he was treated. He didn’t have that many and fewer as he aged, but for a good while you could pretty much guarantee he’d have it every 5 years or so. Grand mal.

Well, can’t say I blame Roberts for hating Trump.

After all, Trump undid one of Roberts “legacy decisions”, that being the illegal mandate in Obamacare.

That mandate decision by Roberts is what he’ll be remembered for in the history books.

Maybe Cruz is forcing Roberts to deny that he despises Trump. The next qquestion is why did he become a closet anticonstitutionalist. Then we find out who owns him. Just publicly narrowing down his excuses.

Trump would need a bunch of rock solid reasons to propose the switch. The Old Guard, such as Grassely, McConnell or Lindsey Graham would not be likely to support it.

Yep....I had Grand mall seizures until I was in my early twenties.... Phenobarb and Dilantin controlled. I grew out of them and never had another after stopping medication. Began them when I was 9 yrs old.

You want an epileptic making a decision during a seizure? Is he cognizant of anything during an epileptic seizure? Think again. What is his mental state during a seizure, and how has that affected him before and after? Roberts should not be on the court due to his epilepsy. His seizures are frequent, at least the ones that we know about.

If you continue reading, you will see my FATHER had epilepsy. He had it as typical, from about 20 on. Grand mal. Controlled by medication most of that time.

He was an electrical engineer working on the B1 bomber and various military projects. 40 years.

It does NOT affect one’s mind. He’d have to have constant seizures to posit such a ridiculous thing.

JR obviously compromised in some way.

Too bad the DOJ seems to only exist in imaginary realms. 🙄
