He is right!
No hearings and a virtual vote sounds safe, right chucky

All Republican senators and VP Pence should take extreme precautions to save themselves from infection with the Chinese Plague at least until they confirm Amy Coney Barrett to the US Supreme Court. The Republic needs their personal sacrifice… Not too much to ask I think.

I’m contacting my two Republican US senators from my Louisiana home state about this. I hope fellow FReepers will also do the same with your state senators.

He is right. Skip the hearing—its mainly useless anyhow—and go right to the floor vote for confirmation!

Well then - Graham and McConnell should just announce they are in agreement, advise Senators can submit their questions in writing to the nominee by the end of next week, she has a week to respond, then take the vote - under the rationale she has already been vetted and confirmed before.

I’m sure the Senate has all sorts of committees in addition to the Judiciary Committee. Have they all closed shop because of Covid-19?

When Schumer or Pelosi talk it’s like hearing a rod bearing squealing in you car the result is always the same.

All hearings can be held virtually. Pelosi has set that precedent. They can even have voting by proxy on the nomination! She has made that the norm as well. If virtual hearings are good enough for Pelosi in the House, it should be good enough for the Senate! (Note: I would prefer it be otherwise, but we can’t play by the “normal” rules while the left plays by their own—this nation is too important for my grand-children!).
