If you look at the counties Trump won, then NY, PA, NJ, VA, & FL would have the same problem—in state civil war.
Heck, even Illinois went almost 40% for Trump. Almost all the blue votes came from the Chicago area. The rest of the state won’t quietly sit by and allow Chicago to force them to leave the union.
As far as I can tell, Mass, Vermont, Conn, & RI are the only states that had more blue counties than red. Every other state (even CA) is dominated by red counties.

Maybe you live 3,000 miles away from Seattle, but do you live very far from NYC, Richmond, Baltimore or WASHINGTON DC? Do you think the same crap would somehow magically not happen in VA? It already is, with unconstitutional gun laws and more, courtesy of your mighty Dear Leader Northam. So your state is going to be part of the problem. I wonder which side of the fight you’ll be on...
But supposing those states peacefully left - how long before they try to steal some more territory? Leftists always foul the nest and then blame someone else. They would go down the sewer in no time and try to make the rest of us pay for it anyway, even if they were independent. We’d have refugees and illegal Californians flooding the border states (like they are doing now in AZ, NH, VA and elsewhere). It would only be a matter of time - and with repetition, shorter and shorter intervals - until we had exactly the same problem, or a war, anyway.
