Gee, if all the “lovers of democracy” WOULD leave this country, then there is an outside chance that a real representative republic may once again emerge. “Democracy” is one of those terms in which the meaning changes depending on whoever is using it. For most of us, it is only one step away from mob rule, the tyranny of the majority showing no mercy to the minority, making irrelevant rules and enforcing draconian measures on the minority without any apparent consequences to themselves.
For those who get to be in the ruling elite of the “majority”, it is the best of all possible worlds
