Exactly and that is the crux, it can’t be overcome by education. It is a DNA and to some extent cultural problem.
And that is why only so many Blacks that can be doctors, lawyers, etc.. You want a diversity hire with a IQ of 85 operating on you?

When my gall bladder exploded almost 10 years ago.

I got what turned to be the A-Team for a surgeon and the rest. My relatives knew a fair amount of the medical profession at the time. I showed the paperwork and got lots of approval.

My surgeon was a black man. Highly rated and pretty good fellow. His brother was said to be every bit as good.

It made 0 difference to me about race. He was an ace doctor and human being.

Many young people do not understand that courses at Community College which are essentially middle school or early high school coursework do not carry college credit. It’s too bad that they did not pay more attention, do more work etc. while they were in high school when taxpayers fully funded their education.

I am glad, however, that in the United States people can change their attitude about learning at any time and make more of themselves than they were before. In many countries your future is locked into place at a very early age by a test and a pathway.

I think that’s true only for remedial courses of which many take. If it was true for all courses you couldn’t cut deeply into your undergraduate requirements when you transfer to a four year program. Many people go that route to reduce college costs.

Re: Disproportionately Females

From memory, Black female college graduates outnumber Black male graduates by a huge number, like in the range of 3 to 1.

Slightly off topic, but...

Has anyone else noticed that in the universe of TV ads almost EVERY Black child has a loving, responsible Black father or grandfather?

From memory, only 25% of Black children live in the same home with their biological father.

Also in the universe of TV ads, about 50% of the loving, responsible Black fathers are now married to white women.

FACT, minorities dominate government employee roles.

I was a victim of this oppression. Never allowed to get the exact job I craved. I had to start my own business. THAT is O’pression.

Scharf had exasperated some Black employees in a Zoom meeting this summer when he reiterated that the bank had trouble reaching diversity goals because there were not enough qualified minority candidates.

Calling that "racially insensitive" is absurd. It is a clear and simple business observation.

I pray that you are successful in your business venture.

I’d rather him get a career in another field, but.. will it just be the same wherever he goes? These people were opening bragging about it and throwing it in his face. I told him that place is corrupt as has a high turnover rate. Maybe it’s for the best. I just pray for a good opportunity to come around that will be good for all of us.

There’s no way it’s the humans.

In Colorado, many universities test for basic skills and if there is a deficiency they require a remediation class for which no college credit is given. A shocking number of kids from city schools have to take those. Another problem is that when kids find out they have to take remediation before even getting started in college they often drop out.

So, when urban districts like Denver trumpet their improving graduation statistics, take it with a salt lick because they won't tell you their remediation stats.

I don’t even try to gain employment with government.
Even if I was hired, I’m pretty sure I would hate my job, and hate the people even more.

The day goes by faster, and one gains a sense of pride, when your work is correct and complete.

Of course it is only the remedial courses which carry no college credit. Community College is an excellent place to begin ones college education. There are many terrific teachers there and the cost is so much less than at a four-year college.
