Raising horses might become a profitable venture in CA ... then again, I’m sure horse farts would be as objectionable as gasoline powered vehicles. The way things are going, Fred Flintstone style vehicles may become the norm.

Doing genealogy I get to read a lot of old newspapers. At the turn of the last century one of the biggest health hazard in large cities was animal waste.
The automobile was seen as an answer to that problem.
