I’m not casting judgment. However, the charged officer better have a justifiable reason as to why he emptied his magazine of 10 rounds from outside the apartment through an upstairs window. I give the police a ton of grace, and my comments on this case and others show that. But this officer’s actions appear to have been reckless (blindly shooting through a window). Again, it’s a probation case, as nobody was injured by his bullets.

let’s see if i can wade through some of this

1. taylor was associating with known drug dealers, but there was no proof that taylor herself did anything illegal.

2. the warrant application was for a no-knock warrant, but the granted warrant was a knock warrant.

3. the officers were either not wearing body cameras or they were wearing body cameras that had not been turned on or the videos have been destroyed. plainclothes officers not required to wear body cameras.

4. evidence of whether the officers announced themselves prior to breaking in the door is weak.

5. kentucky is a stand your ground state.

6. taylor’s boyfriend stood his ground.

7. the officers are innocent until proven guilty and proving them guilty might be difficult.

8. taylor’s mother settled out of court.

9. no forensics have been released on the fatal bullet(s).

observations and conclusions

1. lots of bad laws, mostly concerning no-knock and body cameras.

2. forensics should be performed on taylor in case the officer firing through the window fired one of the fatal bullets

3. without working body cameras and video no one will ever be able to prove whether officers announced themselves properly.

i still do not understand how taylor could die from officer gunshots since she is a bystander, and for all anyone seems to be able to know, could have been a hostage. aren’t police trained not to shoot hostages? how did the police know taylor was not a hostage?

how did the bf get time to dial 911 during a gun battle with police?

As far as I know, Ken Walker fired one shot only and hit an officer in the thigh and then dropped to the ground.

I think think this is how Ms Taylor got shot, instead of him. She was too slow to understand what was going on and to drop to the ground.
