This is monumental! An AFL-CIO Union affiliate endorsing an ultra conservative presidential candidate is history making. Write down this day, it may never happen in your lifetime again. You can say you were there.

I remember a lot of unions endorsing Ronald Reagan in one of his elections.
“I remember a lot of unions endorsing Ronald Reagan in one of his elections.”
The president of the US union federation, the AFL-CIO, denounced Reagan. Funny thing is they did it because of Reagan’s attacks on PATCO. PATCO (The Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization) did endorse Reagan but the big dog, the AFL-CIO, never did. PATCO refused to back Jimmie Carter.
And while this was happening, the AFL-CIO had their Solidarity Day September 1981 in D.C. to try to scare Reagan voters. It was an overwhelming demonstration of organized labor against Reagan. The estimate was a minimum of 236K. Unions didn’t like conservatives and had been championed for many year by the liberals.
