Britt Grant and it's not even closeBut it is close, in terms of Senate confirmation, so it's doubtful she'll be the nominee. BG hearings would be all about gay marriage and she'd be on the defensive; some squishes in the GOP would vote no, and there'd be no hope at all of a Dem vote for her. Besides, Pres. Trump's looking for experience and she hasn't as much as some others.
For that matter, I'll be amazed if he picks Barrett.
Either way I'm not hopeful. Women judges disappoint. It'll be a Souter moment...that will last 30+ years. She'll make Jeff Sessions look like a brilliant selection.
Judges in general disappoint but Britt to me is worth the fight. She has been quite counter culture and doesn't just follow what is popular if it's against the law. Why would it be all about LBGT because she joined the bathroom lawsuit? Sure, let's have that battle. She seems to have a strong RECORD and she can always say, "in my role that was appropriate and my role as a judge would be to uphold the laws as written". She was voting in a year or so ago, she got the RINO votes and it will be up to them to explain why they voted for her before and won't now. If you were comfortable that she would apply the law in an appeals court why not in the Supreme Court. Completely worth the fight. If you're not willing to fight you're never going to win. Not sure I trust Rubio's pick for the next 30 years. They probably have it all gamed out to ensure she's a "count every vote" (illegal or not) type.
