This touches on how we are not allowed to talk about certain aspects of problems with violence.

We are not allowed to talk about the fact that much of this violence is gang related, with members of Youth gangs shooting adversaries over drug deals gone bad and other slights.

And if these gang members are black youth we are certainly not allowed to mention the fact that they are black. We are not allowed to talk about a dysfunctional inner city culture which produces feral youth.

We are not allowed to mention that in shootings, often times innocent people such as this mail carrier are collateral damage of the gangs executing their victims.

In spite of all that, and you’re 100% correct on the origins of the problem, the timing of this appeal by the postal carriers is odd indeed. Or maybe not so.
