I think by “shutting down nursing homes” bluplum meant “locking down nursing homes.” At least that’s how I interpreted what he wrote.
Well, thats a good idea..LOL!
The problem is that Fauci, from the first, had wanted a heavy handed government approach and I think one of the things that scared people was that they saw all the stuff coming out of China and were terrified...and then just shutting down your life without being welded into your building looked pretty good. Plus, it was....only 2 weeks.
What happened with that?
Betcha Sweden has more nursing home survivors, proportionately, than we do...but ours are dying from loneliness and grief from being locked down. Not to mention Cuomo sending a batch of sick people into the mix.
Yup.
But it’s sorta the whole point of the thread, defining terms is crucial to evaluating results.
Fauci is either ignorant of the distinctions between IFR, CFR and deaths per million population, or he deliberately and maliciously conflated the terms to serve his masters and perhaps inflate the value of his own patents.
Actually, I dont see how those ads can be effective at all. I do think Trump has got to get out there and point out that he left it up to the governors (and those who locked down least appear to have done best, incidentally).
He should also just go out and oppose these dictator governors (and mayors) because theyre not popular with a lot of people in their states but they have created such harsh police states that many people are afraid to complain. He needs to support those people.
My mom does elder care and is absolutely heartbroken over families not being able to see their elderly moms and dads in the nursing homes.
Always a good start when you want someone to listen to whatever follows, rather than feeling defensive...
That means most all residents got it. So, the Assumed Infections ought to be 70+% of all residents.
I figure ≈20% simply don't get it. ≈80% of those who do get an infection are asymptomatic, and about ≈16% net are clinical "cases", that is to say seek some medical attention.
That aligns pretty well with your 70+% assumed infections.
If I look at US reported daily cases and daily fatalities right now the instantaneous fatality rate is hovering around 2%. As it has been for quite a while.
Does that mean a 2% "real" fatality rate? Probably not, it's probably more an indication of the rate for people sick enough to be hospitalized, or buggered raw data. I've not found a simple source for hospitalization data.
Your mileage will vary!
” ... the distinctions between IFR, CFR and deaths per million population”
I agree those distinctions are important and lost on most in the media.
You may need a reading comprehension course.
Notice I said ‘may’ because it is still uncertain whether or not you do need that course. (I didn’t want you to be confused by my words.)
++++++++++++++
“Its looking like” (line 1)
means it’s likely that it’s true.
“is still very uncertain. (line 2) means they don’t know for certain if it’s true.
Now contradiction.
I don’t think the distinction between Chloroquine and Hydrochloroquine is lost on the media.
I think they DELIBERATELY report the side effects of Chloroquine as if they are from Hydrochloroquine to make the much, much safer Hydrochloroquine, and the Orange Man look bad.
Who cares how many die, as long as he doesn’t get four more years?
Headline: Its looking like Swedens Herd Immunity Strategy worked.
First sentence: Whether Swedens strategy is succeeding, however, is still very uncertain.
That is contradictory.
************
This is very interesting that someone could get exercised over such a trite event.
You do understand that I was isolated two distinct sentences. The first one used the term “worked”. You do understand that “worked” is past tense and refers to a completed action. It is over. The strategy worked.
The second sentence refers to the uncertainty that it in fact worked, which means it is a contradictory statement.
Now, get on the internet and sign up for Reading Comprehension 101.
You completely overlooked the word ‘looking’ and it’s meaning in the context of the title.
Go ahead, go through life ignorant.
You can have the last word.
